Farm your soul

After a late night of watching starry skies 

and an early morning where we checked out of our fabulous beach get-away home, 

it was time to hit the last spot on our list: Mission Hill Estate Winery.

We toured their jaw dropping wine cellar,

 discovered a sweet but tangy Rose infused with jasmine, honey and pomegranate 

which we stocked up our own wine cellar complete with blue Venetian glasses.

But before heading home, 

we had to bring back some natural goodness from the Okanagan Valley

 by visiting the local Farmer's Market. 

Sweet cherries for a summer fruit salad, sour ones for a home-made pie, 

zucchinis for a mediterranean vegetable casserole, 

fresh flowers for the kitchen table and some sweet kettle corn for the long ride.

We made it home in peace and enjoyed one delicious Okanagan Valley meal!

Lavender Dreams

 "A match, good master, 

let's go to that house, 

for the linen looks white, and smells of lavender, 

and I long to lie in a pair of sheets that smell so."

More Merlot and rose,

more sirrah and champagne,

our head got tipsy from all the sipping,

so we took a lavender infused break.

We picked our own bunch of the purple wonder,

avoided the busy bees working away

and took that fragrance home,

 now beautifully sitting on the kitchen sill.

All happiness depends on great wine...

so we set out this summer on a quest of becoming wine experts...

A trip to wine country a must!

Our first stop, Quail's Gate winery.

This first attraction had less to do with wine and more to do with food

although we did feast on a lovely Riesling.

Delightful seafood dishes, stunning lake views, a thunder-lighting sky show  

and a lovely romantic evening

where we let our skin breathe

after a magnificent beach day.

Summer Love

 Summer’s filled with breaking the rules, 

standing apart, ignoring your head, 

and following your heart.

Bikinis, towels, soaking in the sun, 

oceans, beaches, just having fun,

 meeting cute boys, out after dark, 

swimming at the pool, 

and hanging out at the park.

 Here’s to the days where the sand is your seat, 

the waves kiss your feet, 

your friends outnumber the stars, 

and even the chilliest of days 

are still warmer than the cold one in your hand.
